My mother used to use these in Holland when she was a little girl. They would brew up large pots of tea,
putting in the tea leaves and letting them brew. When they were ready to pour a cup, they would strain a
cup of tea through the silver strainer and the liquid would pour through the silver strainer leaving the leaves
behind.

These are both beautiful and functional.
