We've been asked often how large a bonnet it, how to measure it
for their baby, child or themselves and while we do our best to cut and sew
generous proportions, everyone's child is different. Growth rate is
different, the amount of hair and how thick it is is different and how we
wear it is different.
So, we've taken some photos to give you an approximation of each bonnet's
size etc. You can decide from there after measuring your baby, child or
yourself and choose which bonnet works the best for you :) |

To
your left is a baby bonnet. We usually give an age of 4 weeks to 9
months. Some babies, being much smaller however, can possibly wear
this for a longer period of time.
The top to bottom measurement shows the cap to the neck
casing which is 7 inches. From the back of the cap to the inside of
the brim, it is 5 inches. The width of the brim itself is actually 3
1/4" and the neck ruffle is 2 inches long.
The inside casing has a drawstring rather than many bonnets
which have elastic. This lets you more control over how loose or tight
you want the bonnet.

This is a child's
bonnet and we usually feel it's best suited for children ages 2 to 8.
This means that actually a one year old can often still fit into a
baby or might be large enough for a child's.
The top to bottom measurement shows the cap to the neck casing
which is 7 inches. From the back of the cap to the inside of the brim,
it is 6 inches. The width of the brim itself has increased to 4 1/4"
and the neck ruffle is 3 1/2 inches long.
Also made with an inside drawstring casing for easier control
over tightening and loosening the bonnet.

The women's bonnet actually doesn't
change that much from the child's bonnet other than the brim extends
in length and the cap enlarges.
The top to bottom measurement shows the cap
to the neck casing which is 9 1/2 inches. From the back of the cap to
the inside of the brim, it is 7 inches. The width of the brim itself
has increased only one more inch to 5 1/2" and the neck ruffle remains
3 1/2 inches long.
This bonnet, as with the previous two, also has an inside
drawstring casing.
