Per
Madeleine . . . "I've spent a lot of time photographing and painting the
familiar things around me including my children. Much of the wildlife I
love so much was actually in my 'backyard', which included deer in my rosebushes!
My art career was put on hold for many years while I raised 4 boys but
that was an advantage in itself. In fact, I used my youngest son, Tyler,
for a model so often that he would sigh, stick out his hand and say,
"Only
if you pay me, mom!"
Art
is a personal thing, in a way. It's an expression in itself of what the
artist feels and believes; but it becomes a public expression...a celebration
of life....when it's finished and the artist allows the world to share
the view. Imagine a world without art----I can't. I currently live in South
Dakota in between the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Indian reservations and continue
to paint western life
as I love to see it. While most of my work is in the western and wildlife
genre, I especially love to paint children!
During
the spring and summer months, I'm often on the road traveling to shows
in various states. My work is available in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado,
South Dakota and Washington state galleries as well as in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,
Kentucky, Utah, Tennessee, Washington, Montata, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming,
Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona gift shops."
In
addition to creating her own work, Madeleine also founded the Artists Gallery
Club to unite artists on the web, has developed two newsletters for the
artistic community and also teaches online
art classes.
